One iframe tag puts a live HeyHeyChat room on any page: a launch, a class, a live event, a club page. No account, no plugin, no script of ours running on your site, and it costs nothing.

Where to paste it

  1. WordPressAdd a Custom HTML block and paste the code. In the classic editor, switch from Visual to Text first.
  2. Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, ShopifyUse their embed or custom code element and paste the code into it.
  3. Ghost, NotionGhost takes an HTML card. Notion has no HTML, so paste the plain address instead and choose Embed: https://heyheychat.com/embed/mysite
  4. Your own HTMLAnywhere in the body. Nothing goes in the head and there is no script to load.

If your site sends a Content Security Policy, allow frame-src https://heyheychat.com. Most sites do not set one.

What your visitors get

A room, straight away. They pick a nickname of up to eight characters, pass a quick human check and they are in. The chat speaks their language if it is one of the thirteen HeyHeyChat supports, or the language you picked above. No ads are shown inside an embedded room; there is one small line at the bottom saying where the chat comes from.

What it does not do

It is not private to your siteThe room also lives at heyheychat.com/your-room-name. Anyone who knows or guesses the name can walk in, so give it a name nobody would try.
Nothing is keptThe latest fifty messages, and the room resets after a day with nobody in it. No archive, no export, no e-mail when someone writes while you are away.
Moderation is by the first one inWhoever opens a room first becomes its moderator. If that should be you, open heyheychat.com/your-room-name yourself before you publish the page and moderate from there. There is no separate owner panel.
Not end-to-end encryptedMessages travel over HTTPS but are not encrypted between the people talking. Do not use it for anything confidential.

Is embedding a chat room free?

Yes. No account, no plan, no key. Copy the iframe tag, paste it into your page, and the room is live. Nothing is metered.

Do my visitors need to sign up?

No. They choose a nickname of up to eight characters and pass a quick human check. No e-mail, no phone number, no app.

Can I use the same room on several pages?

Yes. The room name is the room, so every page that embeds the same name shares one conversation. Give each page its own name if you want them apart.

Will it slow my page down?

The iframe loads separately from your page, and the code uses loading="lazy", so a chat further down waits until the visitor scrolls near it. No script, cookie or tracker of ours is added to your site.

Can I choose the language?

Yes. Pick one of the thirteen languages above, or let the chat follow each visitor's own browser language.

Can I remove the HeyHeyChat line at the bottom?

No. That single line is how the service stays free: it is how people who like the chat find out where it came from.
